May 6, 2026 Meeting Highlights

The May 6 meeting began with the induction of two new full members of the Club - Rodger, KM4NS on the left and Chris, K4CLK on the right. The club welcomes seasoned DX'ers as well as newer HF operators wanting to learn more about the wonderful world of DX.

The Presentation

Nearly all of the South Florida DX'ers in attendance had worked KP5/NP3VI. The crowd learned how the DXpedition almost didn't happen due to the strict rules of the US Fish and Wildlife Service. The amazing story will forever be a part of amateur radio history.
Otis explains how the group was able to fully fund a DXpedition that was able to give near-immediate LoTW confirmations to all. Their generosity to the ham radio community set an example we can all be proud of.
With the island in their sights, the team pulled off a 100% solar powered DXpedition of historical engineering and environmental significance.
EZ, the head of the Manyana DX Foundation, discusses the self-sustaining features of his brilliant RDU's which didn't miss a beat. It reads like a NASA mission..
